ADHD evaluation: who evaluates who?

ADHD Evaluation Basic six:

- If you cannot change yourself in a given environment, change the environment.

It is here I want to explain an ADHD fact. The fact is that the attention span of ADHD is ‘different’ than in the most people. This is the fact in the very short term, on daily basis or even in the moment. However, this is also the fact in the long term.

My experience for your benefit.

If you see my list ADHD evaluation, John’s Case Study of jobs I had and the different projects I dive(d) in, maybe you frown the eyebrows. For people who are familiar with ADHD, this is more usual.

There was a great feeling of guilt and shame in the past, about this matter, in my life. The years of psychotherapy were also helpful to clear my view in here.

I want to share what I learned, in the hope you do not need that long to accept yourself and learn to cope with yourself and your environment.

ADHD fact.

The ‘different’ attention span in very short and long term is a fact. We can fight against this, blame ourselves, or let others load the blame on us. The point is there, that we cannot change. A human with diabetes can complain and cry about this illness, but that does not change it.

What we can do is look at it from another angle. First, see the benefits of it: the ability to hyper-focus is a great gift. In addition, we can investigate the real nature of the ‘disadvantage’. When we do that, the result can be very surprising!

Why loss of motivation, getting bored, is look further than the given static situation wrong? The public at large will say that you have to stay where it is good, point out the responsibility you have. The responsibility is a good point, but the question is how we handle this.

Stay or go?

Again: what is wrong with many changes? I learned that the changes are not the problem, as long as I take responsibility. I do that in the way that I never quit - with whatever – in one moment to another. Not a day, not a week, eeeehhhh a month? A month can be reasonable, that depends on the context.

My strive is always that the circumstances where I am, can also be made better without me, after a short adhd evaluation. Moreover, I have always (99%..... it is though) been honest. I share the thoughts that I want to leave, quit, or change. When I am sure of myself, I tell it to the people who are involved. In addition, subsequently I look with the other(s) how we can part in a way that is both good for us.

In this way, it is possible to come back later, maybe for a cup of coffee. Alternatively, even to make business with the people out of the past, in a new win-win context. The possibilities are endless in here.

Good and bad.

Two conditions are essential: be honest (also to yourself) and part friends. The condition that the others can also become better without you is very helping. That can mean for example, that you cooperate in finding your successor. Moreover, that you even show the ropes, in respect and appreciation for your work environment.

In my personal life ADHD evaluation I can tell about two divorces: the first was devastating, for the children, my ex-wife and me. The second divorce was completely different. I still visit my second ex- and her husband with my third wife, and we can have a lot of fun! In the process of that divorce the principal of my ex-wife and me was, that we should have both the position to make a good start with a new life. And happily we succeeded in that!

And now we go!

The way I took for this time in my life now is very extreme in the eyes of very much people. I sold my house, quitted the job, closed my coaching-practice and make a Great Travel now through Europe. We live in a gypsy wagon pulled by two horses: my wife Thea, me and our dog Viënna. Not bad for an ADHD evaluation!For us, this is a great way of chancing the environment, every day!
