Alternative medication for adhd,

I started with the regular medicine.

After the diagnose (1998)- before my search for alternative medication for ADHD - I take Ritalin. This helps me in a great way. I see the great line and issues of my life. It is in an informal meeting of my work that I am stunned. The contact with my colleges is - generally spoken – very good. We respect and appreciate each other in a great way. My college’s are chatting with each other and I receive there a great insight: all these people had their own life and story’s too!

I explain

The insiders understand this maybe directly, let me explain this for the others. I work in an institution for social-psychiatrically services. This gives the opportunity to talk a lot with each other and also to share the personal aspects of our lives. Many colleges know a lot about me. But it is there that I realize that I know a very little of them! Good contact, respect and appreciation, but personally I spoke a lot about myself and little about others. The shock was that I thought before that is was reverse!

Regular medicine can help

The Ritalin helps me then also a lot in the therapy that followed and the coaching after that. It are the side-effects that decide me to stop. In weight I lose 10% (8 kg.). The worse is the queasiness, it makes me often literally puke. A benefit is that others tell me that I am more quiet, listen better, don’t talk when they are not ready yet. Another is that I am less impulsive, think more before I do. It helps me to the phrase: “Often is my first verbal reaction not the best”.


Alternatives I tried

I keep searching for alternative medication for ADHD: later I decide to take Becalm’d. This is a very good alternative for me. I discover it on a holiday overseas to North-America. A young family member uses it and he and his parents are satisfied. The problems arise with import to Europe, the Netherlands. Here it is seen as a medicine and comes under Dutch law. An official penalty of round about $ 850,00 is my part. More later I take Omega 3, this has not the effect on that Ritalin and Becalm’d have.

Virtual medication

In the time that I take these foodstuffs, I read a lot about Positive Thinking. This helps me even more! One of the books I read again and again is: “The Power of your subconscious mind” by Dr. Joseph Murphy. He shines the light on the wholesome aspect of the subconscious mind. In psychiatry is the focus on illness and how to get better. Murphy concentrates on the healthy part. He gives – in a simple and very understandable way – great examples how to be happy and improve your life.

The current state.

Now, at his moment I don’t take drugs of any kind. (Honestly: I smoke cigarettes, drink coffee and like beer; don’t get drunk often, but anyway…). I learned to create my environment in such a way that I fit in that. And also that the environment fits by me. That’s a story I tell later on.
